The Guadalquivir River is famous since ancient history – with each of its successive and beautiful names – and has a long and colored history.
The river began to be discovered by sailors at its estuaries and they kept travelling upwards and sending news back to other sailors. The Phoenicians and the Greeks were those who, since they could write, had technical knowledge of sailing and commercial background, knew how to search for raw materials (silver and tin) in the ground, were attracted by the riches of the river valley whose strategic center was known as Tartessos, at the mouth of the Guadalquivir.
Seville owes its discovery to the river, as cruel as it was it was equally a fountain of riches. The history of the river has led its way to this majestic city. To navigate the river is to navigate the city itself.
If you want to get to know the most historic Seville, if you wish to relax and have a unique experience, sailing on the Guadalquivir will give you a different way to experience Seville.
